Inova Sports Medicine partners with Major League Soccer club

Fairfax, Va.-based Inova Sports Medicine partnered with D.C. United, a Major League Soccer team.

Inova will provide the club and its players with care from sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers and physical therapists, according to a March 2 news release from the team. 

Peter MacArthur, MD, will serve as Inova’s lead physician in the partnership. He also serves as a consulting team physician for the Washington Nationals, the city’s Major League Baseball team, and previously served as a team physician for the Washington Commanders, the city’s National Football League team. 

D.C. United marks the fourth professional sports team to partner with Inova, the release said. 

Inova Sports Medicine is part of Inova health system, which has five hospitals with a total of 1,936 licensed beds, providing care to more than 2 million patients each year.
