Orlando orthopedic institute 1st in state to receive new imaging technology

Orlando Health has become the first health system in Florida to receive Siemens' deep resolve MRI technology for faster scans, according to a Feb. 13 press release sent to Becker's.

The technology will be available at Orlando Health's new Jewett Orthopedic Institute, which will begin welcoming patients to its complex in March.

While most orthopedic patients spend 30 to 40 minutes inside an MRI scanner, some scans can be completed in less than two minutes with the deep resolve technology, according to the release.

The scans created by the machine will be enhanced for physicians using augmented reality. The new machine will also provide higher quality images and will play videos and music to reduce patient stress.
