Below is a list of 10 orthopedic surgeons who have made a positive impact on their organizations and the profession.

Andrew Wong, MD. Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Wong has been an orthopedic surgeon at Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic since 2001. He specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Wong also serves as an assistant professor of Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee. 

Michael Ast, MD. Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City). Dr. Ast is an orthopedic surgeon at HSS. He is trained in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, robotic surgery and computer assisted surgery. Dr. Ast also serves as the chief medical innovation officer at the hospital. 

Sigurd Berven, MD. University of California San Francisco Health. Dr. Berven is an orthopedic surgeon at University of California San Francisco Health. He provides treatments including extreme lateral interbody fusion and spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis. Dr. Berven also serves as a professor of the university. 

William Paterson, MD. OrthoArizona (Phoenix). Dr. Paterson is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoArizona. He specializes in both common and complex shoulder disorders. Dr. Paterson focuses on nonsurgical and minimally invasive approaches that produce the best results.

Bryan Markinson, DPM. Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City). Dr. Markinson is an podiatric surgeon in the department of orthopedics and orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. He has a special interest in podiatric skin disease and tumors. Dr. Markinson also serves as an adjunct professor at New York College ofPodiatric Medicine. 

Paul Perry, MD. Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons (Evansville, Ind.). Dr. Perry has been an orthopedic surgeon and partner at Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons for more than 25 years. He specializes in treatment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Carmella Fernandez, MD. Fernandez Upper Extremity Institute (Naples, Fla.). Dr. Fernandez is an orthopedic surgeon and the founder of Fernandez Upper Extremity Institute. She specializes in hand, wrist and elbow surgery. Dr. Fernandez is also a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. 

Charles Lombardi, DPM. Francis Lewis Foot Care (Bayside, N.Y.). Dr. Lombardi is a podiatric surgeon and the founder of Francis Lewis Foot Care. He specializes in diabetic foot care, wound treatment and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Lombardi also serves as chief of foot surgery and podiatric services at New York Hospital-Queens in New York City.

Corey Caruthers, DO. OSS Health (York, Pa.). Dr. Caruthers is an orthopedic surgeon at OSS Health. He has specialties in arthroscopic hip, knee and shoulder surgeries. Dr. Caruthers is also trained in robotic-assisted knee replacement surgeries.

Cory Calendine, MD. Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee (Franklin). Dr. Calendine is an orthopedic surgeon of Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee. He specializes in anterior hip replacement, robotic joint replacement and partial and total hip and knee replacement. Dr. Calendine is also a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
