The MRI uses artificial intelligence, high-field 3T technology and an open-bore setting, designed for both patient comfort and image quality.
Using artificial intelligence, the machine has an up to 50 percent shorter scan time, according to the report. It also has improved image clarity.
The 3T MRI also has a wider opening than most machines, at 70 centimeters, offering more space for claustrophobic patients.
“We’re excited to offer this new technology at Tufts Medical Center to create a more tranquil and calming environment of MRI scans,” Tom Shields, CEO of Shields Health, said in the release. “This state-of-the-art imaging machine is the latest innovation designed to provide enhanced comfort, quality, and efficiency to our patients and we are proud to partner with Tufts to bring this advancement to the community.”
