The Canary Quantiles Recover Curves module uses data from Zimmer Biomet’s Persona IQ smart knee implant, according to a news release. It compares a patient’s activity levels and knee kinematics against data based on age group, gender and time since surgery.

“Using recovery curves, I’m seeing my patients more actively engaged in their surgical recovery,” orthopedic surgeon John Dundon, MD, said in the release. “With this objective data, they can see and understand their own recovery trajectory as compared to other patients. If they are falling behind, we discuss ways they can potentially improve their recovery.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
