Jill McAngus, MD, is leaving Cross Timbers Orthopaedics in Stephenville, Texas, to open her own practice, according to the Glen Rose Reporter.
Dr. McAngus will finish her time at Cross Timbers Dec. 12 before starting Family & Friends Orthopedics, according to the Dec. 6 report. She will work out of locations in Stephenville and Glen Rose, Texas.
Dr. McAngus told the Glen Rose Reporter she aims to foster a strong work-life balance for her employees. She said the move to form her own practice was motivated by her own desire to control her schedule.
"I want my staff to be able to focus on their families as well and provide opportunities for them to minimize missing important events for their children," she said in the report. "I’m not sure there’s ever a perfect time to change, but I wanted to do it as soon as possible. I wanted a better quality of life for my family and what better time is there than now?"
