MedCraft Investment Partners acquires South Bend Orthopedics building

MedCraft Investment Partners has acquired the building housing South Bend (Ind.) Orthopedics' medical offices and Allied Physicians Surgery Center.

MedCraft has closed on $300 million of healthcare projects, spanning 20 facilities nationwide, since its inception 15 months ago. It's on pace to invest in $500 million by the end of the year.

The South Bend medical office building was owned by physicians of South Bend Orthopedics, who sold the property and its connected surgery center.

"As South Bend Orthopaedics continues to build on our tradition of excellence and providing exceptional patient care, we recognize that owning all of our real estate comes with an added expense and burden," Adelbert Mencias, MD, physician president at South Bend Orthopaedics, said in a Nov. 8 press release. "By selling our South Bend location to MedCraft, it allows us to free-up our capital and infuse it back into our operations and equipment so that we can continue to provide state-of-the-art care to our patients, in a cost-effective outpatient setting."
