Marien Zanyk, PhD, has developed AnkleStone, the first orthopedic device to promote foot and ankle health and provide pain relief.
AnkleStone is a multiposition orthopedic device allowing practitioners and patients to perform daily conditioning for mobility, flexibility and range of motion.
It is effective because of its plasticity and gentle progressive stretching that helps restore tissue, according to an Oct. 31 press release.
"Ankle strength and mobility is often not given enough attention but the main reason why ankle injury is so common is the lack of a truly effective home option for therapeutic conditioning of the ankle," Dr. Zanyk said in the release. "With AnkleStone, we aim to spread the importance of ankle strengthening, and offer an affordable and easy-to-use orthopedic solution for increasing the strength and mobility of the ankle."
