Orthopedic, AI companies complete merger

Orthopedic

Orthopedic imaging companies CurveBeam and StraxCorp completed their merger, the two companies announced Oct. 20.

The combined entity, CurveBeam AI, will focus on orthopedic imaging, according to a news release. CurveBeam developed weight-bearing CT imaging systems for orthopedics, and StraxCorp specializes in AI systems for bone separation, segmentation and microstructure.

The merger expands CurveBeam's point-of-care imaging into the bone health space.

Both companies have worked together since 2017 and announced the plan to merge in September. The new company has 51 employees.
