Augmented reality shoulder platform launched in U.S., Europe

Medacta’s NextAR augmented reality shoulder system was released, the devicemaker said April 13.

The technology debuted in 2021, and more than 200 patients have been treated in Europe and the U.S. since it was introduced, according to a news release. 

NextAR Shoulder uses preoperative planning and a 3D virtual model to help surgeons track the position of surgical implants and instruments in real time.
