7 orthopedic surgeons join private-equity-backed MSO

In the last five months, seven orthopedic surgeons, including two spine surgeons, have joined Gainesville, Fla.-based Orthopedic Care Partners, a management services organization with eight affiliate practices in four states, according to an April 4 news release.

Spine surgeons Michael Gallizzi, MD, and Michael Silverstein, MD, joined the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., and the Orthopaedic Institute in Gainesville, Fla., respectively, and orthopedic trauma surgeon Brianna Patti, MD, joined Tucson (Ariz.) Orthopaedic Institute.

Four other orthopedic surgeons also joined the Orthopaedic Institute: Daniel Lombardo, MD; Harrison Mahon, MD; Robert O’Connor, MD; and Megan Reilly, MD.

Orthopedic Care Partners’ most recent affiliation was Motion Orthopaedics, a 10-physician group in St. Louis.

The orthopedic platform is backed by private equity firm Varsity Healthcare Partners.
