These universities got the most NIH funding for orthopedics in 2021

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania received the most funds from the National Institutes of Health in 2021, according to data from the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.

Blue Ridge ranks NIH donations to departments across several specialities including orthopedics, neurosurgery, otolaryngology and internal medicine.

Here are the 10 institutions that received the most orthopedic funding in 2021:

1. University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia): $10.3 million
2. Duke University (Durham, N.C.): $9.5 million
3. Washington University St. Louis: $8.5 million
4. Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore): $6.8 million
5. University of California San Francisco: $6.6 million
6. University of Rochester (N.Y.): $4.8 million
7. University of Southern California: $4.3 million
8. Columbia University Health Sciences (New York City): $3.6 million
9. Stanford (Calif.) University: $3.5 million
10. Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia): $3.3 million
