5 things to know about Dr. Betsy Nolan of Oklahoma Shoulder Center

Betsy Nolan, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at The University of Oklahoma in Norman, and she offers care for conditions of the shoulder at the Oklahoma Shoulder Center in Oklahoma City.

1. Dr. Nolan has a professional interest in shoulder and elbow issues, with a special interest in complex problems. She also has expertise in reverse total shoulder replacements.

 

2. Her research centers on the clinical outcomes of total shoulder and reverse total shoulder replacement surgeries, as well as biomechanical wear properties and durability of these types of procedures.

 

3. She serves an associate editor for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

 

4. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and president-elect of the Orthopaedic Society of Oklahoma.

 

5. Dr. Nolan has completed two shoulder and elbow surgery fellowships — one in Switzerland and another at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
