Five Dallas-Fort Worth-area orthopedic practices have unified and now operate under a single name, OrthoTexas. As of Nov. 2, the unification of all five practices are complete, according to a LinkedIn post.
All-Star Orthopaedics, AOA Orthopedic Specialists, North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center, Orthopedic Associates and OrthoTexas announced the plan in June, with a November start date. The combined, physician-led organization includes more than 70 physicians at more than 20 locations, along with more than 50 physical therapists at 13 sites, according to the OrthoTexas website.
Patients will keep their physicians, care teams, office locations, medical records and accepted insurance plans. The OrthoTexas name will now appear on signage, paperwork and appointment reminders.
The practices are partnered with Atlanta-based United Musculoskeletal Partners.
“Coming together as one group allows us to create a more seamless experience for patients and preserves the culture and clinical autonomy that made each practice successful,” said Michael Briseño, MD, chairman of OrthoTexas.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
