5 orthopedic, spine leaders who retired in 2022, 2023

From a major practice cofounder to a devicemaker CFO, here are five major orthopedic and spine retirements since June of 2022.

1. In June, cofounder of Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics Frank Joseph, MD, retired after 23 years as a hand, wrist and shoulder surgeon at the practice. 

2. In 2022, the president and CEO of biologics company AllSource, Tom Cycyota, retired after 22 years leading the company. 

3. Orthopedic devicemaker Enovis’ CFO, Chris Hix, stepped down to an advisory role with the company on Jan. 1 to prepare for his full retirement later in the year. 

4. On Jan. 4, Robert Eberhart, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Portsmouth, N.H.-based Atlantic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, retired after serving as the pracitce’s leader for more than 35 years. 

5. Nabil Ebraheim, MD, chair of orthopedics at the University of Toledo (Ohio) Medical Center, will retire on Jan. 23 after being placed on administrative leave.
