5 orthopedic patent updates in the last 90 days

From a patent infringement lawsuit to a new shoulder replacement tool, here are five patent updates Becker’s has reported on since Aug. 18.

1. Conformis and Medacta reached a settlement in a patent dispute. 

2. Exactech earned a patent for its shoulder replacement prediction tool. 

3. A retired orthopedic surgeon sued DePuy Synthes for alleged patent infringement.

4. Happe Spine received two new U.S. patents for implantable devices made with a thermoplastic polymer and a process to manufacture them. 

5. Theragen received its second patent in three months for a bone growth device.
