4 things to know about orthopedic surgeon, Bob Marley tribute singer Dr. John Williams Jr.

On May 5, orthopedic surgeon John Williams Jr., MD, will perform a Bob Marley tribute with his reggae band at the Savannah Center in The Villages, Fla., to benefit The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation, the Villages-News.com reports.

Here are four things to know.

1. Dr. Williams is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Orthopedics Institute in The Villages and chairman of surgery at Central Florida Health.

2. Dr. Williams performs as Bob Marley with his band, John Truth & Reflexx, for the annual concert.

3. He took up guitar at age 40 and is the group’s lead singer and rhythm guitarist.

4. Dr. Williams received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and underwent adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship training at Columbus, Ohio-based Joint Implant Surgeons.
