Nashville orthopedic trauma surgeon Manny Sethi, MD, entered the 2020 race for Tennessee’s open U.S. Senate seat.

Orthopedic surgeon Henry Hood, MD, of Lancaster, Ohio, died at age 79. Dr. Hood was an orthopedic surgeon who worked with International Medical Corps and volunteered overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia among other countries.

Robert LaPrade, MD, PhD, is leaving Vail, Colo.-based The Steadman Clinic to join Golden Valley, Minn.-based Twin Cities Orthopedics, effective July 1.

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery announced it will award the former chief of its foot and ankle department, Jonathan Deland, MD, its lifetime achievement award.
