4 hospital investments in orthopedics

Hospitals and health systems are investing in orthopedic care through new facilities and partnerships.

Here are four projects to know:

1. Pardee UNC Health Care in Hendersonville, N.C., and Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co. are partnering to form an orthopedic and neurosurgical specialty Center of Excellence.

2. Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass., opened two new operating rooms that increase the surgical capacity of its New England Baptist Orthopedic program. It is part of a $9 million project.

3. Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine and Sellersville, Pa.-based Grand View Health have expanded their strategic partnership to develop specialty services through 2027. The partnership that began in 2018 boosted orthopedic surgeries by 20 percent.

4. Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health on June 7 broke ground on a $161 million orthopedic hospital that spans 205,000 square feet. The six-story facility will include 12 operating rooms, 19 inpatient rooms and 56 medical suites patients’ families can use as hotel rooms.
