Here are three things to know.
1. The study authors surveyed 221 patients who underwent hip arthroscopic surgery between 2012 and 2016.
2. Of the surveyed patients, 37 percent reported experiencing some postoperative numbness. Approximately 43 percent of patients reported resolution of the numbness by six weeks postoperatively, and 68 percent reported that all numbness resolved by six months.
3. Postoperative numbness was associated with a negative effect on the International Hip Outcome Tool–33 at one and two years postoperatively.
