Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Keith Berend of Joint Implant Surgeons

Keith Berend, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at New Albany, Ohio-based Joint Implant Surgeons.

He specializes in muscle-sparing total hip arthroplasty, less invasive total knee and partial knee arthroplasty, resurfacing hip replacement and all sorts of rapid rehabilitation protocols for hip and knee replacements.

 

Dr. Berend was a Hip Society-British Hip Society traveling fellow in 2004 and a John N. Insall Knee Society traveling fellow in 2005. He has published over 130 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and frequently presents his work at conferences all over the world. Dr. Berend also serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedics at The Ohio State University in Columbus and is a member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The Knee Society and The Hip Society.

 

Dr. Berend graduated from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University School of Medicine before completing his internship and residency at Duke University Hospital. He went on to complete his fellowship in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee at Albany, Ohio-based Joint Implant Surgeons, Inc.
