1. Felix “Buddy” Savoie III, MD, became the 90th president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Savoie is a surgeon in New Orleans and has been a part of the AAOS’ education council, research and quality council and political action committee.
2. Leslie Sisco-Wise, MD, was named first vice president of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association in March and will take on the role of president next year. Dr. Sisco-Wiseis head of hand surgery for Ochsner Health and director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Center for Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans.
3. The Oklahoma State Medical Association, the state’s largest physician organization, named David Holden, MD, as president. Dr. Holden specializes in knee, hip and sports medicine procedures at McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City. This is Dr. Holden’s second time serving as president of the Oklahoma State Medical Association. He is also past president of the Oklahoma County Medical Society.
