2025 Super Bowl ad features NYU Langone orthopedic surgeon

Two major health systems, New York City-based NYU Langone Health and Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health, capitalized on the large viewership for the 59th Super Bowl, by running notable advertisements.

The 59th Super Bowl was played in New Orleans, with the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.

NYU Langone’s ad not only featured former New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz, but also orthopedic surgeon Joseph Zuckerman, MD, the Walter A. L. Thompson professor of orthopedic surgery and chair of the department of orthopedic surgery.

The ad “drew parallels between sports and healthcare teamwork,” according to a Feb. 5 press release from the system.

“It’s all about them coming together for the common goal,” Dr. Zuckerman said during his ad slot. “When you think about it, you know, NYU Langone Health is the No. 1 academic medical center in the United States for quality and social safety. Four thousand five hundred physicians, 50,000 employees. That doesn’t happen without a lot of teamwork.”

Dr. Zuckerman joined NYU Langone in 1984, and performs up to 350 shoulder, hip and knee replacements each year.
