1. New York City pain management surgeon Sady Ribeiro, MD, 72, has been sentenced to three years in prison in connection to a $31 million “trip-and-fall” scheme. He pleaded guilty in September.
2. Lawrence Alexander, MD, was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for his role in a $31 million Medicare fraud scheme. Dr. Alexander was previously convicted of false statements related to healthcare matters.
