Maxx Orthopedics has successfully completed the first U.S. cases using Invibio’s Peek-Optima femoral component.
The cases were performed during a staged investigational device exemption clinical study, according to a June 19 news release.
The cases used Maxx Orthopedics’ Freedom total knee system with the Peek-Optima technology, developed by biomaterial solutions manufacturer Invibio.
Andrew Palmisano, MD, an orthopedic hip and knee specialist with Ascentist Healthcare in Kansas City, Kan., performed the procedures May 28.
Siraj Sayeed, MD, total joint specialist at South Texas Bone & Joint in San Antonio, also recently performed his first case with the component and the Freedom Titan tibial baseplate.
