Health and care platform Transcarent has partnered with OrthoForum Value Network to expand access to orthopedic care through more than 160 independent practices across 47 states.
The partnership connects Transcarent members with a network representing more than 12,000 clinicians, offering coordinated referrals, scheduling assistance and bundled surgical pricing, according to an Oct. 13 news release.
Patients can receive orthopedic consultations and second opinions through Transcarent’s 2nd.MD service. When surgery is recommended, Transcarent provides benefits navigation and care coordination, while OVN physicians oversee treatment. The network includes ambulatory surgery centers as potential lower-cost care settings.
Transcarent reported average savings of $17,943 per surgical episode through its existing Surgery Care program, along with a 0.63% complication rate and a 0.05% readmission rate. The figures reflect the company’s broader program, not outcomes from the new partnership.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
