WVU Medicine adds 5 ORs, including neurosurgery iSuites — 4 insights

WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., added five operating rooms, including two with a neurosurgery focus and one with an orthopedic focus, The Journal reports.

What you should know:

1. The rooms range from 600 square feet to 921 square feet.

2. Two of the ORs will accommodate a da Vinci Intuitive Xi surgical robot.

3. The hospital anticipates having the surgical robots operational by early 2020.

4. A third operating room will be for orthopedic procedures including anterior hip replacement.
