The report includes responses from 13,575 physicians. The survey was conducted on behalf of The Physicians Foundation by Merritt Hawkins and completed in September 2012.
When asked if they agree that hospital employment will erode the physician-patient relationship and quality of care, respondents reported the following:
• Mostly agree — 38.5 percent
• Somewhat agree — 33.1 percent
• Somewhat disagree — 20.2 percent
• Mostly disagree — 8.2 percent
