West Virginia hospital to buy stake in physician-owned group, eyes orthopedic practice

Charleston (W.Va.) Area Medical Center plans to buy a majority share of Charleston Surgical Hospital.

CSH is physician-owned, and existing empoyees will keep their jobs when the transaction is closed, according to an April 18 statement shared with Becker’s. The hospital is owned by physicians across several specialties including orthopedics, spine surgery, otolaryngology and plastic surgery, according to its website

The hospital will be named the CAMC Charleston Surgical Hospital. CAMC also file a Letter of Intent with the West Virginia Health Care Authority to buy OrthoNeuro in Charleston.
