1. Dr. Boyd was sworn in on Feb. 10.
2. After graduating from Washington and Lee in 1986, Dr. Boyd earned his doctorate in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston before completing his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
3. Dr. Boyd practiced at South Carolina’s Columbia Neurosurgical Associates for 19 years. He founded Lexington’s Brain and Spine Institute in 2015, and he currently serves as Lexington Medical Center’s chief of neurosurgery.
4. Dr. Boyd began serving on Washington and Lee’s Science Advisory Board in 2013.
