1. The proposal outlines a new medical clinic that would house the Vermont Orthopedic Clinic and its plans to convert the current clinic for finance and human resources staff.
2. Rutland Regional Medical Center estimates the new clinic will be completed before 2020.
3. The application also includes $3.2 million to renovate the hospital’s loading dock and rework neighboring space to serve hospital programs.
4. The Vermont Orthopedic Clinic was built to accommodate four providers; however, it has grown to house 12 orthopedic specialists.
5. The Green Mountain Care Board, who reviews the proposal, has questioned whether the increase of orthopedic practices promotes excessive orthopedic surgery.
