UPMC to open 7-surgeon orthopedic practice with spine care: 3 details

Pittsburgh-based UPMC is opening an orthopedic practice in Harrisburg, Pa., on April 1.

Three things to know:

1. The practice will provide the full spectrum of orthopedic care, including spine and total joint surgery.

2. Seven surgeons will practice at the facility: Steven Wolf, MD; Michael Werner, MD; Nathan Wool, MD; Casey Kiser, MD; Thomas Chu, DO; Oumou Belemou, DPM; and Torre Ruth, MD.

3. UPMC West Shore Orthopaedics will share the same location as Arlington Orthopedics-UPMC, which also has seven surgeons, according to its website.

“The new UPMC West Shore Orthopaedics practice further strengthens our network of employed and independent orthopaedic providers committed to giving our patients exceptional spine, bone and joint care,” Philip Guarneschelli, president of Harrisburg-based UPMC Pinnacle, said in a March 8 news release.
