University of New Mexico plans orthopedic surgery, rehab center with $15M loan

The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque plans to build an orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation center, according to the Rio Rancho Observer.

Three highlights:

1. The center would be housed at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, N.M.

2. The project would be funded with a loan of up to $15 million. The Rio Rancho Governing Body approved the loan application submission during a Feb. 12 meeting.

3. If approved by the New Mexico Finance Authority, the loan will be repaid with revenue from the Higher Education Gross Receipts Tax.
