1. The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute expansion totaled 85,462 square feet and cost $40 million to complete.
2. Originally opened in 2010, the Institute needed expansion to add clinical space for inpatient, outpatient, surgical and physical therapy.
3. University of Missouri Health Care began the expansion in June 2015 and opened the facility two years later.
4. Missouri Orthopaedic Institute’s expansion includes the Thompson Center for Regenerative Orthopaedics, which accommodates 37 researchers of various backgrounds that will collaborate on orthopedic studies.
5. Since opening, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute has seen a steady increase in patients treated.
