The facility will open to neurology patients on Jan. 22, with other specialties following in the coming months, according to a Jan. 18 press release.
The facility will house neurology, cranial neurosurgery, comprehensive spine care and radiology, with plans to formally open in the spring.
The project has been in the making for two years and will consolidate all of UConn Health’s brain and spine services.
Nearly all outpatient neurology services, including spine, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, epilepsy, headache and stroke are relocating from the outpatient pavilion on UConn Health’s lower campus.
The new building will also be the first facility for UConn Health Imaging, a freestanding, nonhospital outpatient imaging facility.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
