Surgeons gave feedback to U.S. News representatives during the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meeting earlier this year. The ratings, which would be similar to the publication’s hospital and doctor rankings, are expected to be posted in the fall. The publication already ranks hospitals in general, specialties — including orthopedics — and children’s hospitals.
The top five hospitals for orthopedics in the 2017 rankings are:
1. Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City)
2. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.)
3. Cleveland Clinic
4. Rush University Medical Center (Chicago)
5. Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYU Langone Medical Center (New York City)
