The University of Iowa Health Care’s North Liberty-based orthopedic clinic welcomed its first patients on April 28.

The new North Liberty campus houses the UI Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, which includes UI Sports Medicine, according to a March 4 news release.

It will feature orthopedic operating rooms, inpatient and outpatient care, an orthopedic walk-in clinic and a level 4 trauma center. In addition, a 24-hour drive-thru pharmacy, diagnostic imaging and clinical lab services also will be available.

An open house and tours of the facility were held April 12. For patients receiving orthopedic surgery, an on-site anesthesia clinic will offer same-day preoperative care, according to the release.

The 60-acre, 469,000-square-foot facility campus also holds a three-story hospital and five-story medical office building with outpatient clinics and space for clinical research and teaching activities.
