The new practice, to be called the Hand and Shoulder Center at Excelsior, will create the largest medical group in Western New York specializing in hand and upper-extremity treatment.
The new center will be based on the Excelsior Medical Campus.
Excelsior, which is nine years old, handles about 60,000 patient visits annually, while the Hand and Shoulder Center of Western New York, which was founded in 1986, has about 16,000 patient visits annually, according to the report.
Completion of the merger is expected by Jan. 1, 2012.
