Top 3 reasons physicians cited for leaving private practice in 2015

In 2015, 56 percent of employed physicians had previously been in private practice, according to a survey by Jackson Healthcare.

Here are the top three reasons physicians cite for leaving private practice:

 

•    The overhead and cost of maintaining a medical practice was too high — 33 percent
•    I want to focus on the practice of medicine and patient care, rather than administrative hassles — 27 percent
•    Reimbursement cuts — 26 percent
