Top 10 States With Largest Number of Individuals Selecting Health Insurance Marketplace Plans

California has the largest number of individuals who have selected a health insurance marketplace plan, according to State Health Facts, a project of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.

The data has been taken from “Health Insurance Marketplace: March Enrollment Report, October 1, 2013 – March 1, 2014,” released by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, part of HHS.

 

Here are the top ten states with the largest number of people who have selected a health insurance marketplace plan:

 

1. California — 868,936
2. Florida — 442,087    
3. Texas — 295,025
4. New York — 244,618
5. North Carolina — 200,546
6. Pennsylvania — 159,821
7. Michigan — 144,587
8. Georgia — 139,371
9. Illinois — 113,733
10. Washington — 107,262
