The program, HD Arthroplasty is for industry leaders looking for the makings of a successful TJR program. They can visit White Fence Surgical Suites and spend a day at the center to learn about the program’s inner workings. ASC professionals get to experience what constitutes a successful program at White Fence Surgical Suites.
“It’s an immersive experience in outpatient TJR experiences. From the first patient at 5:30 a.m. [to the] pre-op holding to the last patient rolling out the door sometime in the evening, people will see everything in between including indications, contraindications, preoperative medical evaluations — the whole gambit,” Dr. Berend says. “They really get to look under the hood and kick the tires.”
Dr. Berend and Midwest Training and Development Services created the shadow experience to provide healthcare professionals the chance to have their questions answered. The experience is beneficial for providers spanning the field, including surgeons. anesthesiologists, nurses and administrators.
“We did it to provide [healthcare professionals] a unique and immersive experience into the highest volume freestanding outpatient center in the world,” he says.
