Texas hospital recognized for spine surgery, total joint procedures

BlueCross BlueShield of Texas on April 27 recognized DHR Health as a Blue Distinction Center+ for spine surgery and a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip surgeries, the Progress Times reports.

1. The Edinburg, Texas-based hospital boasts high patient satisfaction and low complication rates.

2. Designated facilities demonstrate expertise in specific spinal procedures cutting down on hospital readmissions. 

3. DHR Health was recognized for its expertise in cervical and lumbar fusion, cervical laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy/discectomy procedures.

4. It is one of 11 hospitals in Texas to be recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+ for spine surgery.

5. The hospital was also honored as a Blue Distinction Center for substance use treatment and recovery.
