A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hendrick Clinic Orthopedics was held Aug. 17. James Deal, MD, and John Masterson, MD, are providing orthopedic services at the facility, which includes in-house imaging.

The hospital wants patients to be able to “stay close to home to receive high-quality care,” one of the reasons why the orthopedic clinic was opened, according to Krista Baty, chief administrative officer and chief nursing officer.

Surgeons performing knee and hip replacements will have access to a Mako robot, installed at the main hospital in May. Surgeons use the system to create 3D preoperative plans and to assist with precise implant alignment and positioning.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
