Texas hospital expands surgical schedule, to resume elective surgeries by end of April

Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas, is preparing to resume elective procedures, including orthopedic and neurosurgeries, by the end of April, TXK Today reports.

Three things to know:

1. Physicians are expanding their schedules to include weekend and evening availability to accommodate the influx of cases.

2. Christus St. Michael’s has secured personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of its staff.

3. The system will be taking added safety measures, including limiting visitors, screening all patients and staff who enter the facility and requiring masks to be worn.
