Texas health system purchases robotic system for spinal surgeries: 3 notes

Amarillo, Texas-based BSA Health System acquired Globus Medical’s ExcelsiusGPS, according to KVII, an ABC affiliate.

Three notes:

1. BSA Health System is one of the first medical centers in the area to offer robotic-assisted spine surgery.

2. Globus Medical designed the system to be minimally invasive, reducing blood loss and muscle damage while speeding up recovery time.

3. The ExcelsiusGPS is intended to give the surgeon improved visualization of the patient’s anatomy intraoperatively for better safety and accuracy.
