The positions being eliminated are within the coding, billing and authorizations department, according to a spokesperson with the practice.
“In response to the evolving healthcare landscape, SOS has made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce to streamline services and enhance efficiency, allowing us to focus on delivering high-quality orthopedic care,” the email said. “SOS is dedicated to supporting and respecting our employees throughout this process and is providing career transition resources including working with other local healthcare organizations to assist employees with career transitions.”
The practice filed a WARN notice Dec. 9, and two locations in Syracuse are being affected by the move.
