Swift Institute suffers data breach

The Swift Institute in Reno, Nev., suffered a data breach, the practice said in a Dec. 12 notice.

The practice became aware of unusual activity on its networks towards the end of January and launched an investigation. It was revealed that certain files may have been copied by an unauthorized individual.

The practice finished its review of the impacted information on Dec. 4.

Information including name, Social Security number, medical information and other financial details may have been affected. Individuals who may have been affected received a notice letter. The practice didn’t say how many individuals may have been affected.
