The survey includes responses from 31,399 U.S. physicians across 25 medical specialties.
When asked if they use complementary or alternative treatments, respondents reported the following:
• Thirty-seven percent of those below the age of 45 years and 38 percent of those 46 years and older admitted taking complementary and alternative treatments for medical conditions.
• However, 48 percent of female physicians as compared to 32 percent of male physicians say they have used complementary and alternative treatments.
