Jackson, Wyo.-based system St. John’s Health has become a majority owner of Teton Sports & Spine Imaging, also based in Jackson, according to a May 31 report from Jackson Hole News & Guide.

Teton Sports provides MRI and CT scans. The facility will continue to operate independently following the acquisition, and there are no plans to eliminate any staff, according to the report.

“Throughout our negotiation, St. John’s was pretty clear about the fact that they want to change as little as possible,” Shaun Andrikopoulos, CEO of Teton Sports & Spine Imaging, told Jackson Hole News.

Through the agreement terms, the hospital will acquire 70% of the facility for $1.9 million and the remaining 30% will be owned by six local orthopedic surgeons.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
