He completed his medical degree at the Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina and his residency at Birmingham, Ala.-based American Sports Medicine Institute.

“Rothman Orthopaedics has an international reputation for clinical and academic excellence, especially in sports medicine,” Dr. Youmans said in a statement. “The practice of sports medicine requires a team approach with input from the orthopaedic surgeons, non-surgical sports specialists, physical therapists, and athletic trainers. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Osbahr — as well as other members of the Rothman team — while helping athletes of all levels return to the activities they love, prior to injury.”
